At the crossroad
Its something i shared with close friends only, and only a few know about this. I'm in a dilemma since..

Last year november, i applied for a marketing position with Novena Surgery. It is a newly established day surgical centre at the new novena medical centre. I like it becos it is a new company, but yet it is under the trusted group of Far East Organization. I always like to work in a new company becos u can be the pioneer batch, progress with the company, and there are fewer steps in the ladder to climb up. Its a combination of my interest in healthcare, and its also something which i wan to venture into. i.e. convert from science to business.

I didn make it for the initial interview in december, and have since forgetton about it. However, just few days ago, they called and ask me whether i am available and still interested. So i went down to the interview the next day, tour around the place, and i'm interested in working there. And to cut the story short, this is wat they say:

* i do not have marketing experience, so am i willing to start working in the frontline first. i.e. patient relations executive, and den slowly progress up to marketing. (agree)

* am i willing to accept the starting pay of 1.6k only, with adjustment 2 to 3 mths later. (dun really agree)

* they wan me to start work immediately, they even said wan to reimburst me for the 2 week notice after i tender my resignation. (dun agree) anywae, we compromised on the 23rd apr if everything goes well. - cos i need a break!-

* they said if i'm worried abt the salary, they are willing to provide sponsorship for my studies at long as i worked at least 1 year with them. But of cos there will be a bond. (don't know)

In a nutshell, i do not have the sense of security. it all seems too gd to be true. Well, mayb they can afford to "groom" ppl becos it is a new company, but... can they adhere to what they offer?

My worries:
1) To give up my 7mth bonus in July?
2) Or to give up an opportunity which i always wanted?
3) Willing to start low again, with a big pay cut?
4) What if all they offer are empty talk?

So these are my plans:
* i'll go down to sign the offer letter tml, but before that, i want everything they offer to be typed out in black and white.

* i want to find out abt the staff benefits with HR. i.e. pay increment, bonus, annual/medical leaves etc.

If they cannot agree to such simple request, i will have no trust in this company, and i shall not accept the offer.

I hope what I'm doing is right.
